Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup

Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup

What a fantastic day at Alderley Edge CC as schools from across Cheshire competed in the county finals of the Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup.

Congratulations to Altrincham GS for Boys and Altrincham GS for Girls who were crowned Cheshire champions and will now continue their journey in this exciting national competition along side runners up Sandbach School and Wilmslow High School.

The Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup was created to give state school hardball cricket a platform on the national stage for the very first time, showcasing the incredible talent of state-educated boys and girls across the country. With the national finals taking place at Lord’s Cricket Ground, the Home of Cricket, it provides a truly unique opportunity for young cricketers to dream big and compete at the highest level of schools cricket.
A huge well done to all the schools involved:
Altrincham GS for Boys,  Altrincham GS for Girls, Bramhall High School, Sandbach School, Wilmslow High School

We were also delighted to welcome former England captain, Michael Vaughan, who came down to support the event and celebrate school cricket in Cheshire.

The competition is funded through the support of the Black Heart Foundation and Barclays UK, whose investment is helping make cricket a game for everyone and creating new opportunities for young people to access and enjoy hardball cricket.

Check out the highlights from a brilliant day of cricket!
