Girls’ Performance

Cheshire Cricket Board

Girls Performance

Our player pathway provides playing opportunities for girls aged between 7 and 18 to develop their skills and reach their full potential. Each year, at the conclusion of our Excellence courses some players will be considered for selection into our representative squads and Girls Academy. You can find more information about these opportunities below. If you have any questions about our performance pathway, please contact the girl's performance lead, Jessica Lewis on jessica.lewis@cheshirecricketboard.co.uk

Girls County Cricket

In the 2022 season we will run county U11, U13, U15, U18 Development and U18 county teams. The teams will be selected in April 2022.

Girls District Cricket

After a successful first year of running girls' district cricket, it has been confirmed that girls district will run alongside the county teams in 2022 providing even more opportunities for girls to play. These teams will be selected in April 2022.

 Girls Academy Programme

Our girls academy programme sits at the top of our player pathway and is a unique opportunity for a small group of players. The programme is an invite only programme that runs from October- September each year.  We will be releasing information on the players selected in the 2021/2022 programme soon.

North West Thunder Academy

Cheshire is one of three counties that make up the North West Thunder. The Thunder side was established as part of the ECB's new regional hub structure and made its debut in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy in 2020.  The Thunder academy sits underneath the senior Thunder squad and provides further playing opportunities for young players. A number of Cheshire Youth Cricket players have been selected in this academy and more information will follow.
