From ECB 6 Nov re 1 to 1 Coaching in Open Spaces - a Clarification

From ECB 4 Nov

As a result of the UK Government’s new national COVID-19 restrictions, and subject to Members of Parliament voting today and the publication of bespoke guidance from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport [DCMS], ECB understands all organised recreational cricket activity indoors and outdoors will be suspended from 5th November until 2nd December in England. Professional cricket that is classified as elite by the UK Government can continue as an exemption during this period.

Hospitality venues such as cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars and social clubs must close; with the exception of providing food and drink for takeaway (before 10pm; and not including alcohol), click-and-collect, drive-through or delivery.

The UK Government has confirmed that school sport can continue as an exemption during this period but university sport must be suspended. Coach education programmes can continue where this cannot be undertaken online.

The health and wellbeing of everyone in the cricket community has and remains our number one priority and we are in dialogue with DCMS about how recreational cricket activity can return safely once the national lockdown ends.

Head Teacher

A big thank you for how well Owen Williamson managed the session yesterday under the new guidance. I was a little anxious as you were our first coach this year. All the staff commented on how safe the children were at all times. I have ordered 6 hand sanitiser dispensers to fit around that area- thanks for your input.  I was singing your (Owen Williamson) praises to another Head Teacher who would be very interested to talk to you.

Thank you to ALL the coaches for a fabulous week on the Summer Course. Our son had a great time and absolutely loved it. He was telling me all about the different bowling styles and ones he was trying, He got a wicket in the game he played for his club and was telling me it was based on the 'knuckle ball' which I didn't really understand!

Just to say thank you very much for your time, energy and enthusiasm running the Advanced Coaching course. Both my sons (Nathan and Adam) really enjoyed the course and felt they learned a lot from very knowledgable and supportive coaches. Nathan was absolutely thrilled to be selected for the District course - so thank you for inviting him - and Adam is super-motivated to work hard on his cricket in the hope of getting selected next year!

School Teacher

Chris Edwards is doing a fantastic job with our children from Elton primary. They have been having so much fun as well as learning super cricket skills. As PE coordinator, I've even managed pick up some excellent skills from him that I can incorporate in my own lessons.
