Mel Dobson and Paul Radage, who both represent Cheshire at seniors county level, have been named in the England 60s squad for August's Over-60s World Cup.
The pair earned selection following an extensive trial process, which included a two-day training camp at Loughborough in March and an intra-squad fixture held on 30 April.
Mel, from Tattenhall CC, started his England career last summer against Australia in the Grey Ashes and went on to take eight wickets in five matches. Paul, who plays club cricket for Grappenhall, is the seventh-highest run scorer in England 60s history after debuting in 2024.
Dobson and Radage were both part of the England side that featured in the 2025 Grey Ashes and will now represent their country on the world stage as England look to build on their runners-up finish at the previous Over-60s World Cup in Chennai, India.
The tournament will take place in Mississauga, Canada, from 9–23 August, with England captained by Edward Gordon Lennox.
England’s preparations begin on 14 May against Scotland at Marton CC, before further warm-up fixtures against Wales and an England Over-50s Lions side ahead of the squad’s departure to Canada.
The England 60s squad features players from 10 counties across the country, with Cheshire represented by Dobson and Radage.
