CHESHIRE COBRAS VISUALLY IMPAIRED CRICKET CLUB
Supported by the Cheshire Cricket Board the CHESHIRE COBRAS VISUALLY IMPAIRED CRICKET CLUB was established in 2013 to provide cricket for visually impaired people in the Cheshire Area and to promote their physical and social welfare.
With encouragement from the Board, an enthusiastic Committee arranges friendly matches against local Clubs across Cheshire to raise awareness and develop a membership base. Players are pictured left during a match against Bollington CC in 2014 which provided a memorable occasion for players and spectators alike - see photos on Facebook, (courtesy of Bollington CC)
The Cobras are grateful to the Cheshire Cricket Trust for providing the shirts and caps, and to the Cheshire Clubs Committee for providing the playing equipment.
Matches are 30 overs a side and local Club sides will have the opportunity to wear blindfolds and other low visibility eyewear to gain an understanding of the cricketing experience of VI players.
