CHAIRMAN -DAVE KNOWLES
Dave Knowles - Chairman
'I have been Chairman since an SGM held in 2020 (just prior to the COVID-19 pandemic). Having been with the Club as player since we were founded 8 years ago, I first joined the Committee to look after our Social media platforms around 5 years ago. After our previous Chairman, stepped down, I put myself forward without knowing what was ahead! It's been a challenging start to my tenure as Chairmain, with COVID not allowing any cricket in the first season, to having to contend with Return to Cricket regulations set out by both the ECB and BCEW (Blind Cricket England & Wales - our governing body). However, I have been pleased to be able to get back onto the cricket field with a great team of VI cricketers from a variety of cricketing backgrounds/abilities and sight levels. Some of our players have previously played either for or with the England Visually Impaired team, or have played VI cricket at high levels nationally. The most important thing is that all our players aim to have a great time playing cricket and take the opportunity to get out, have fun, and do what they enjoy.' Dave Knowles
TREASURER & CAPTAIN - MIKE HARRISON
Mike Harrison - Treasurer & Captain
'I currently hold the positions of Treasurer and Captain of Cheshire Cobras Visually Impaired Cricket Club.
I have held the role of Treasurer since the formation of the club in 2014 and was elected Captain of the team at the club's Annual General Meeting in 2021 having taken over from previous Captain David Ellingham during the 2020/21 season.
I have played National League level and social Visually Impaired cricket for over 30 years having represented eight teams during that time.
In that period of time I have won the British Blind Sport/Blind Cricket England and Wales National League on several occasions, won the BCEW T20 Cup and played in two friendly matches for England against India.' Mike Harrison
VICE CAPTAIN - PAUL KNOWLES
Paul Knowles - Vice Captain
'Hi, my name is Paul Knowles and I am the Vice Captain of Cheshire Cobras VICC. I have been playing VI cricket since I was 16 and have been an integral player since the club’s inception. I have taken on the Vice Captain roll for the 2022 season to assist Mike Harrison with planning as well as on match day, assisting with everything from organisation to match tactics. Primarily, my roll within the team is as a batsman but also add experience in the field.' Paul Knowles

Marcus Darby - Secretary
'I'm an experienced administrator, having been secretary of the forerunner to Cheshire Cobras, North Visually Impaired Cricket Board, then Cheshire Cobras, since its inception.
I regularly score the club's games but can also umpire having had a keen interest and attended an umpiring course recently. On occasion, I also play in friendly matches.' Marcus
