This summer the GMA (Grounds Management Association) is hosting a series of events around England and Wales, called GMA Connect. There is usually a charge to attend, however, recreational cricket clubs are able to access free entry by using a code (contact Andrew Jackson to receive this code - see below).
GMA Connect is a series of one day regional events created to support grounds teams and volunteers, hosted by our partner the Grounds Management Association. The events bring together practical learning, expert insight and the opportunity to share experiences with others managing and maintaining pitches and playing surfaces.
Across the day, attendees will hear from industry specialists on topics including:
• Weather and climate impacts on turf management and what to do about it
• Improving surface performance for training and match play
• Understanding drainage and irrigation challenges and solutions
• Practical workshops and demonstrations
•Demos of the latest innovations by leading suppliers
Dates and Locations:
• Abingdon School – 16 April 2026
• Cardiff City Stadium – 21 April 2026
• Joie Stadium, Manchester – 14 May 2026
• Headingley Stadium – 19 May 2026
• Stoneham Lane Football Complex – 21 May 2026
• Ipswich Rugby Club – 4 June 2026
The events are designed to be friendly, informal and useful, whether you are a volunteer looking after a single pitch or part of a larger grounds team.
Even if you’re not a GMA member, Community clubs can attend free of charge.
