Cheshire Community Cricket Indoor League 2025/26

Diverse Communities Indoor Cricket League Concludes Landmark First Full Season

The Cheshire Cricket Board (CCB) Diverse Communities Indoor Cricket League has successfully completed its first full season, marking a significant step forward in the growth of community cricket across the county.

The competition experienced notable expansion this year, increasing from 12 to 18 teams and introducing a new three-division format comprising Division A, Division B, and Division C. The development reflects a growing appetite for structured indoor cricket and the continued support from clubs and community teams across the region.

A defining feature of the season was the strong representation from South Asian communities. The league provided a platform for players from a wide range of backgrounds to take part in competitive cricket while strengthening community connections through sport.

Throughout the season, the league showcased the unifying power of cricket — bringing together players of different cultures, experiences, and abilities under a shared passion for the game.

League Champions Crowned

Following a competitive campaign across all three divisions, the league champions were:

Division A: CSK (Sale)
Division B: Winners Warrington
Division C: Mavericks (Stockport)
Each division produced closely contested fixtures and high-quality performances, with teams demonstrating strong sportsmanship and commitment throughout the season.

Cup Finals Week Delivers Dramatic Conclusion

The season concluded with an exciting Cup Finals Week, providing teams from every division with another opportunity to compete for silverware and end the campaign on a high.

The Cup winners were:

Division A Cup: Plattfields Red (Stockport)
Division B Cup: Wyth Warriors (Warrington)
Division C Cup: Mavericks (Stockport)
Mavericks (Stockport) completed an impressive League and Cup double in Division C, underlining their consistency and quality across the entire season.

Cup Finals Week delivered a vibrant and competitive finale to the campaign, ensuring teams remained engaged until the final matches and celebrating the spirit of the indoor game.

CCB Communities Manager Rehaan Rather said the season demonstrated the strength and potential of the initiative.

He said: “The expansion to 18 teams, the introduction of three competitive divisions, and the addition of a Cup Finals Week all highlight the strong foundations CCB is continuing to build.

“This season was about much more than cricket — it was about representation, opportunity, and bringing communities together through sport.

“I would like to thank all players, team managers, supporters, and volunteers who contributed to making the league such a success. We look forward to building on this momentum and delivering an even stronger competition next season.”
