Tiru's story - to volunteer at a club and undertake every role imaginable is one thing but Tiru set up Westminster Park CC from scratch. He works tirelessly to make the club the best that it can be and ensures that everyone can play and barriers to participation are removed.

Having left India for England in 2009 with a couple of cricket bags for luggage, Tiru settled in Chester and formed Westminster Park CC. In the intervening years he has been the driving force behind this fantastic community club, taking on every role from club chair, to welfare officer, treasurer and groundsman - working hard to prepare and improve the pitches at this council owned facility. Tiru kickstarted the club's junior section, offering coaching free of charge for families who could not afford it, and has also volunteered at neighbouring clubs, supporting junior and girls cricket. He also arranged for Afghan refugees to join the club's indoor training, free of charge, throughout the winter. Never one to seek the limelight, he is the true definition of an unsung hero!
