Succession Planning – Grounds Manager
Succession Planning - Grounds Manager
As with all volunteer posts, succession planning for the role of Grounds Manager is crucial …
It can be difficult to replace the experience and expertise of a head grounds person, and more clubs are turning to hybrid models with a wider volunteer ‘grounds team’ working under the supervision of a more experienced practitioner.
CAG are very happy to support anyone looking to get involved in grounds’ maintenance, whether through formal training courses or informal advice – please reach out!
Some ideas for your succession planning are:
- Explore who may have time to support outfield cutting - couple of hours twice per week
- Explore who can help with perimeter maintenance - couple of hours, once a week
- Explore who can help with general square maintenance – one hour twice per week
- Explore who can help with pitch preparations - 10-20 hours per week collectively
- Explore if anyone has the skills to support maintaining the equipment (ad-hoc)
Cheshire Cricket Board will contribute £25 towards anyone wanting to take the GMA Level 1 Cricket Course online
