Cheshire Association of Groundsmen
Cheshire Cricket Board works in partnership with the Cheshire Association of Groundsmen to advise, support and encourage our affiliated clubs to make the most of their playing facilities.
In Cheshire, we are extremely fortunate to have three ECB County Pitch Advisors (CPAs) available to support the club network. The CPAs have a wealth of experience in getting the best out of pitches and a commitment to helping groundsmen at all levels of the game. A list of services available to clubs is as follows:
|Pitch Advisory Service - Feb 2021||Cost|
|Site Visit - On-site inspection by a CPA and a simple, written report covering areas of concern||£100|
|Performance Quality Standard (PQS) Report – Short Version with simple recommendations||£150|
|Performance Quality Standard (PQS) Report - Comprehensive technical assessment of square or outfield using ECB Performance Quality Standards||£250|
|Follow-up visit - negotiated by CPA if necessary||£50-£100|
|Costs above not inclusive of mileage (45p per mile). Any additional costs to be advised by CPA as appropriate|
To arrange a visit from one of our County Pitch Advisors, please complete the enquiry form. To contact our CPAs directly, or for all other enquires, including information about forthcoming training courses, visit Cheshire Association Groundsman website.
New initiative for 2021:
In the absence of any face-to-face training during the National Lockdown, CAG are encouraging volunteer groundsmen to upskill by taking the GMA (online) Level 1 Cricket Grounds Maintenance course (cost £25). Upon successful completion of the course, please email a copy of your certificate to email@example.com and your course fee will be refunded.
